Effective Communication
"To communicate clearly in work groups, classroom discussions, and presentations by demonstrating active listening, appropriate tone and body language, strong support for ideas, and effective visual accompaniments."
Freshman Year
City Tour
I chose this for this DRSL because I had to present it to my 9th grade Human Geography class. We had to chose a place in the world and plan a trip including places to go, where to stay, facts and so on.
Sophomore Year
Los Animales
This was a project I had to do for my Spanish 2 class. We had to take pictures and title them what they were called in the Spanish language. We took the assigned animals, then we had to find twenty animals on our own and find out how they were pronounced in Spanish.
After the project was finished, we had to present them to the class. By doing this we had a review before the test and the students had the opportunity to learn the name of animals in Spanish that they didn't know.
By doing this project, I've learned the name of new animals and the required animals.

Junior Year
Northeast Woodlands: Iroquois
This worked for effective communications because I had to present it in front of my class. I had to be able to work in a group and make sure that it got done before the due date. This was a power point that I had to do in a group, Dylan, Wilmar and Kim. We had to do it the Iroquois Indians of the plains of the U.S. It was a little complicated because we had to make sure that all the requirements were there and everyone was doing there share.
Senior Year
Sex in Society
This was a presentation that my partner and I did for our U of U Humanities 1010. We had to chose something that is a problem in our society today and discuss it. Since we views this class as a university level class we chose to do our topic on sex in society. We brought up issues in the media, sex education, myths, and how we could address the issues. We made it so that people were comfortable and that people that didn't want to sit through the discussion that they could leave. We hit on key points and tried to fit as much as we could in the five minutes that were given. Sadly, we weren't able to fit everything in, but we did hit the points that we wanted to.
I think that this fits with this DRSL because I had to do a presentation in a professional and mature way. I had to work with a partner and discuss with the class.
I really enjoyed doing this project and I really enjoyed being able to present on a topic that Giselle and I felt so strongly about.
